What is Sureshield?
Sureshield is a series of coatings and treatments for metals, plastics, wood, glass, and other materials that contain antimicrobial compounds to inhibit the growth of odor and stain-causing bacteria, molds, mildews, and fungi on the coating or material.


Why should I apply Sureshield Active Plastic Protection to the plastic products we manufacture?
Sureshield promotes freshness by attacking the very source of a universal problem: odor and stain-causing bacteria, molds, mildews, and fungi on the coating. This long-lasting treatment for plastic enhances product performance and addresses concerns on matters of environmental freshness.


What type of antimicrobial protection does it provide?
Simply put, antimicrobial protection means that Active Plastic inhibits the growth of odor and stain-causing bacteria, molds, mildews, and fungi on the coating or plastic that can cause odors, stains, deterioration, corrosion, and contamination.


How does it work?
When microorganisms appear on the surface of the coating or plastic, antimicrobial compounds make contact with them and disrupt the microorganisms' attempts to live and remain comfortable. Instead of continuing to grow, the microorganisms will not grow, and after a short period of time, the microorganisms can no longer be measured by standard laboratory equipment.


How quickly does antimicrobial activity take place?
Active Plastic's antimicrobial properties are activated upon application. Test results show that the coatings will suppress the growth of microbes within minutes and significantly reduce them within 24 hours.


Are the coatings environmentally safe?
Yes. The coatings contain no heavy metals and have low or no volatile organic compounds (VOC's). The antimicrobial compounds used in Active Plastic are registered for use with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and other similar regulatory agencies around the world


Do these products produce resistant strains of microrganisms?
For more than 50 years, the antimicrobial compounds used in Active Plastic have never harbored resistant strains of bacteria or other microorganisms.


How long will the treated pellets last?
The treated pellets will become part of the plastic prior to molding or extrusion and thus should remain in the plastic for the useful life of the product while continuing to inhibit the growth of odor and stain-causing microorganisms.


How long will the coating last?
The coating, when applied correctly, should remain on the plastic for the useful life of the product while continuing to inhibit the growth of odor and stain-causing microorganisms on the coating.


How is it applied?
Active Plastic pellets are mixed in during the master batch stage prior to molding or extrusion.
Active Plastic coatings can be sprayed on to formed plastic parts and either air dried or baked to cure.


How much does it cost?
